Canon Advanced User

Join us for an intensive, hands-on day devoted to getting more from your Canon mirrorless camera system. Modern cameras give photographers capabilities we could only dream about a few years ago—but with those capabilities comes complexity. The goal of Canon Advanced User is to help you understand those systems, make better choices in the field, and take better photographs with the equipment already in your camera bag.

This is not a beginner camera class. We’ll move beyond basic exposure and camera operation and explore the features, settings, and techniques that can make a real difference when the photography becomes challenging.

Learn from One of Canon's Best

Bob Malish from Canon will be our instructor for the day. Bob travels the world supporting professional photographers working at events such as the Super Bowl, Olympics, and Formula 1 races. He helps photographers get the most from sophisticated Canon camera systems under demanding real-world conditions.

Fortunately, you don't have to be photographing an Olympic athlete to benefit from that experience. Bob has an exceptional ability to explain complex camera technology in ways that photographers can understand and put to use.

We'll dig into the systems that matter most—particularly autofocus, subject detection and tracking, exposure, flash, camera customization, and other features that can help you work faster and more confidently.

Bring Your Camera

Canon Advanced User is designed to be interactive. Bring your Canon mirrorless camera so you can follow along, change settings, ask questions, and see how the concepts we discuss apply to your own equipment.

We'll also have a wide selection of Canon cameras, lenses, flashes, and accessories available throughout the day. If you've wondered how a particular lens would work on your camera, this is your opportunity to put one on and try it.

This isn't a sales presentation. The emphasis throughout the day is education, experimentation, and helping you better understand the equipment you already own.

Luncheon Round Table

Lunch is included with your registration, but we're doing more than simply providing a meal.

Our luncheon will be an informal round table discussion where we can continue the conversation, ask questions, exchange ideas, and talk about photography and photographic equipment in a relaxed setting.

Bill Porter, owner of Arlington Camera and a longtime supporter of the photographic community, will join us for the luncheon.
