Ireland: Emerald Island Odyssey Itinerary
Ok, we're still crossing the T's and dotting the I's, but this is the itinerary as it stands right now (3/2016).
Day 1 - Sunday 9 July, 2017
- Morning arrival in Dublin Airport
- Transfer by Taxi to Wynn Hotel
- 2:30pm checkin at the Wynn Hotel
- Afternoon free to explore Dublin
- Welcome dinner at the Rustic Stone
- Overnight in Wynn Hotel
Day 2 - Monday 10 July, 2017
- Photo Walk in Dublin - areas of interest include:
- Wicklow Mountains / Glendalough / Powerscourt Gardens /
- Overnight in Wynns Hotel (3 star city centre hotel)
Day 3 - Tuesday 11 July 2017
- Depart for the village of Sneem on the Rind of Kerry
- Travel via Tipperary and Cork
- Visit The Rock of Cashel. This was the seat of kings and mediaeval bishops for 900 years and flourished until the early 17th century. Brian Ború was crowned King of Munster here in 977 and he became High King of Ireland in 1002.
- Visit to Blarney Castle and opportunity for shopping at Blarney Woollen Mills
- Continue on via the valley of the river Lee to the old market town of Macroom, where you will see Macroom Castle, once home of Sir William Penn, whose son was later to found the state of Pennsylvania.
- Travel over the Cork/Kerry Mountains via the Irish speaking villages of Ballymakeery & Ballyvourney to Sneen via Kenmare
- Overnight in Sneem Hotel (4 star village centre hotel)

Day 4 Wednesday 12 July 2017
- Photo Walks in and around the village of Sneem. Areas of interest are Killarney National Park / Muckross House & Gardens / Kenmare /
- Travel to the neighbouring village of Caherdaniel
- Special Dinner (Pint + Starter + Main course + Dessert + Tea/Coffee) in the Blind Piper Pub
- Return to Sneen
- Overnight in Sneem Hotel (4 star village centre hotel)
- Many great pubs in the village of Sneem but you might like to go for a pint in D. O’ Shea’s
Day 5 Thursday 13 July 2017
- Depart for the village of Ennistymon on the Atlantic west coast of Clare
- Visit the beautiful thatched village of Adare
- Continue up the Atlantic seaboard to visit the dramatic 650ft Cliffs of Moher and see The Burren (Gaelic for rocky land)
- Overnight in Falls Hotel (4 star village centre hotel)
- Many great pubs in the village of Ennistymon but you might like to go for a pint in Eugene’s
Day 6 Friday 14 July 2017
- Photo walks in the Ennistymon area. Areas of interest include Burren National Park / Doolin / Ballyvaughan / Black Head / Galway /

Day 7 Saturday 15 July 2017
- Depart for Dublin
- Visit Clonmacnoise the monastery founded by St. Ciaran in 6th Century
- Continue to Kilbeggan
- Visit Kilbeggan Distillery for an Irish whiskey tasting
- Continue onto Dublin
- Overnight in Wynns Hotel (3 star city centre hotel)
Day 8 Sunday 16 July 2017
- Transfer to Dublin Airport
- Check in (*** 3 Hours Advised ***)
- Depart on return flight home
