Texas School - Between Light & Shadow

Tony and Rob are teaching once again at the esteemed Texas School that begins April 24 and wraps up on Friday, April 29. It’s hard to explain Texas School to anyone who’s never attended. It’s not just classes on photography - it’s an experience that is known throughout the world.

Texas School is hosted by the Texas Professional Photographers Association and has grown into the largest, and arguably the preeminent school of its kind. Students come from all other the country, and from many foreign countries, and meet in Addison, Texas for a week of learning, inspiration, and connecting with over 1,000 photographers.

Tony Corbell and Rob Hull will teach Between Light & Shadow, a class for experienced photographers who want to take their skills to the next level. This isn’t a how-to on shutter speeds and aperture. We assume you know that. And it’s not a recipe class on where to set studio lights for the perfect Rembrandt lighting.

You will learn to understand Light. How to find beautiful photographic lighting. And, how to manage the light that you bring to the image. Never miss an exposure again.

You will learn more about your camera’s controls. We teach you how to use the settings in your camera for creative imagery. You will learn more about your tools - and about yourself.

You will learn how to tether your camera to your computer. Gain control over your photography sessions and take advantage of the tools your computer delivers.

You will learn to master your workflow. Capturing an image is only the first step. Learn how to maximize your image quality as it makes its way from your camera to a final print. We’ll demystify when to use Photoshop, Lightroom, Capture One, and your camera’s software.

We believe in helping you become the best photographer you can be - all while having fun in the process.
