How To Create High Impact Images with Color Gels

GreatPhotography presents a workshop for those who want to learn to create visually stunning, high-impact photographs using color gels. This photography workshop runs from Friday, October 28, until Sunday, October 30, and will be held at Tony Corbell’s studio - The Gallery - in Muskogee, Oklahoma.

High-Impact Color Gels is an intensive hands-on workshop. You’ll start with studio lights, where you’ll pump up the impact with color gels complimenting your subject. Then take it on location. You’ll have the opportunity to photograph musicians at the Oklahoma Music Hall of Fame.

Use gels to add a subtle touch of color and warmth, as might be seen in an early morning breakfast cereal advertising campaign. , Provide a slight cooling effect for the shadows in an inspiring commercial portrait on a front porch after the sun has long since settled.

Tony will also illustrate a unique method for reproducing an exact and specific color and brightness of any gel and how this predictable understanding and knowledge of lighting behavior can add tremendously to the impact of any image.
