Digital Chicks Added to 2010 Calendar

After lots of requests and a little massaging of the calendar, the ever popular Digital Chicks Retreat has been added to the calendar for 2010.  This year we'll be heading north to the shores of Ray Roberts Lake, just outside of Pilot Point, to the Lantana Lodge.

Savanah Detten_1070With stunning views of the surrounding lake, western décor and spacious guest accommodations, Lantana Resort and Marina is the perfect place to host our 4th annual get-together for ladies only.

Digital Chicks is a weekend retreat that is designed for ladies only - a learning experience with other women who share your passion for photography.  Our retreat begins with a wonderful wine and cheese reception and the rest of this no-stress weekend consists of hands on classes and photo sessions on the grounds.

Space in this wonderful facility can only be held for a short time so if you're interested in signing up don't delay.  Save money by signing up with a friend.

Visit the Digital Chicks page for more information about this event and to register.

What Happened to the Smoky Mountains Trip?

I know that I told several folks that I am planning on a springtime trip to the Smoky Mountains so we can photograph the Dogwood blossoms and all the springtime spectacle that Mother Nature delivers in this incredible park.

Unfortunately this won't happen in 2010.  While I was putting together all the logistic I learned that the National Park Service is planning on some major constructions projects in the park.  I confirmed with them that the Cades Cove loop road and the Roaring Fork loop road will be closed during the springtime for repaving.

These are two of the major sites for our field photography so I felt it best to wait until 2011 for this workshop.
