Now is the perfect time to plan on joining this GreatPhotography workshop in Rockport, Texas. Whooping Cranes have migrated into the Texas Coastal Bend area on their annual migration from Wood Buffalo National Park in northern Canada. These majestic birds, the tallest in North America, have faced extinction for years. It's estimated that in the mid 1800's over 1,400 whooping cranes migrated across North America. Todays population of just over 240 is an improvement over the 18 birds in the 1930's.
Workshop activities include a guided tour boat ride deep into the Aransas National Wildlife Refuge, giving you a rare glimpse at endangered Whooping Cranes and 30 - 60 other different species of waterfowl, shorebirds and waterbirds. Enjoy beaches, boating and birds in this magical Texas area.

The workshop is a blend of classroom-style time and photographing in the field - with the emphasis on hands-on work. As with any GreatPhotography workshop, we work on core digital photography skills as well as more advanced techniques.
