Will Greeting Card Designer work with my Mac?
The older versions of Greeting Card Designer for Adobe
Photoshop CSx consist of a collection of actions for Photoshop.
Experienced users should have no problem loading these actions and using them on
a MAC.
The New Greeting Card Designer Version 4 will NOT work with a
MAC without significant conversions. |
Greeting cards are a great way to show off your
images with friends and family. If you shoot professionally, there is no
better way to say thank you than with a custom made greeting card using an image
from your client's shoot. Amateurs and professionals alike are using
greeting cards as another source of income.
 But
creating professional looking cards can be a huge hassle. When you print
on greeting card stock you must create a layout that will look good when the
paper is folded in half. To add to this problem, you must deal with small
unprintable margins that vary from printer model to printer model.
Greeting Card Designer provides tools to help you produce professional
looking greeting cards without the hassle of odd crop sizes and unprintable
margins.
What is Greeting Card Designer?
Greeting Card Designer is a collection of Actions, Tool Presets, Artistic
Borders, Templates, Help Files and Images that help you create professional
looking Greeting Cards using Adobe Photoshop CS2. You can use your own
images or use on of the included images to create your card.
Can I Modify a Greeting Card?
Yes, Once you have run the appropriate action, a Photoshop file is created
which you can then modify any way you would like. The text on the card is
fully editable so you can select your own text, font and styling.
What Size Cards Can I Make?
Greeting Card Designer was designed to work with the entire line of Red River
Paper's greeting card stock. Red River offers a broad line of cards in
many sizes and finishes. Actions are provided to support every size card
in both landscape and portrait orientation images.
Do I Have to be an expert at Photoshop?
No. You don't need to be an expert in Photoshop but you should be
comfortable with using the program. Skills that will be helpful include an
understanding of layers, entering and modifying text, moving layers or text and
cropping images.
You don't need to know how to write an action but you will be using actions
to create your greeting cards. You should be familiar with the Actions
Palette and Photoshop's palette menus. It is not difficult and the documentation
will guide your through the process step by step.
Can I use the images on the CD for my own
cards?
Yes. There are images on the CD that you may use for any greeting card
that you create for your own personal use. They are included to help you
learn how to use the program and should not be claimed as your own.
The images are protected by Copyright and may not be used in any card that you
sell.
How can I get support for the programs?
All the actions and tools that are included on the CD have been created and
tested using Adobe Photoshop. A Users Guide is included with the program. If you run into
problems with the program you can
contact me.
