Fall Class Schedule Posted

I am quickly approaching my ten year anniversary for teaching Photography at SMU and the programs are growing every year.  This Fall I'll be adding two additional courses to the lineup with Point, Shoot, WOW!, and Unraveling The Digital Workflow.

Point, Shoot, Wow! - If you're a beginner or amateur photographers who wants to know how to add that professional look to your photography and make your friends and family jealous when you produce photos that make everyone go WOW!!!  You don’t need fancy cameras or lots of expensive digital editing software.  You just need to know the GreatPhotography Point, Shoot and WOW Tips.

Unraveling The Digital Workflow - This class is intended for the more serious photographer that faces the challenges of organizing and managing an ever growing inventory of digital images.

Photoshop Tips

Converting from Photoshop CS2 to CS3

Adobe has recently released the CS3 version of the Creative Suite applications, including the seemingly ubiquitous  Adobe Photoshop CS3.  There are a lot of wonderful enhancements and most serious users will want to upgrade right away.

Before you run out and start loading the program though, you'll need to do a little housekeeping to ensure a smooth installation and transition to this new version.  You need to save all your custom tool presets, actions and keyboard shortcuts.

Depending upon your previous version of Photoshop, you may also have to engage in some special deep cleaning.  For details on what to do to make your upgrade a smooth process download my White Paper now.

And You Thought Gas Was Expensive

As gasoline at the pump leaps above the $3.00 per gallon mark it gives us cause to contemplate the cost of other liquids that we use every day.  For photographers that includes inkjet ink.  I have an Epson R800 and an Epson 4000.  I figured out that Epson is charging $2,410 per gallon for ink for my 4000 and the R800 tops out at over $4,150 per gallon.  Too bad my printers can't use gasoline.

Equipment For Sale

For anyone using Canon equipment I have a Canon 430 flash unit that is in like new condition.  The only reason I'm selling it is that I have two 580 units and this 430.  I do a lot of multi flash work and wanted to get another 580 so all the controls will be exactly the same.

Price is $200 and I will ship within the US for $5.

If your interested just send me an email at info@greatphotography.com

Note: Class Registration

Although the Fall class schedule is posted on my web site, SMU will not open class registration until later in the summer.

Why the new format?

Trying to write an email newsletter that is compatible with all the different browsers is a challenge.  Microsoft recently released their new Office 2007 and the Outlook viewer is a nightmare.  This new simplified layout will hopefully allow more users to read the information.

Still having problems, just drop me a line, I'd like to know.
