What better place to learn about Macro Photography than a Hands-On GreatPhotography Mini-Workshop.

This Mini-Workshop explores the world of Macro photography. Close-up photography techniques will be discussed as they relate to the digital SLR shooter. Students should be familiar with their SLR camera and have a general understanding of settings for correct exposure. The type of Macro Photography taught in this class is best accomplished with SLR cameras, preferably with interchangeable lenses. This is NOT a point-and-shoot compatible process.

This mini-workshop will have both classroom presentations and hands-on shooting opportunities. Bring your camera equipment.

I will be using a digital SLR camera tethered to a computer and state-of-the-art projection equipment so you can see first hand how this is done.

Topics include:

  • How close is close
  • How to shoot awesome close-ups
  • Lighting for close-up work
  • Determining the right exposure for macro work
  • Learn about the Close-up toys like extension tubes, diopters, reversing rings, rails and more.

Class Prerequisites...

Students should have a fairly good working knowledge of their camera and basic photographic techniques.  This is a hands-on workshop so bring your equipment.
