here has never been a more exciting time to be involved in photography. Whether
you shoot film or pixels, the strides in camera equipment quality and digital
technology is bringing us a whole new way to capture images of the world around

Discover the Secrets of GreatPhotography.
Where are classes...
All GreatPhotography classes are taught on the SMU-in-Legacy campus located
at 5236 Tennyson Parkway in Plano, between the Dallas North Tollway and Preston
Road. There is ample and convenient parking and the facility has a small
deli and vending area.
Cost of classes...
The cost of all classes listed on this website include an "early bird" special
that SMU offers for anyone who signs up seven or more days before the class.
If you register within a week of the class date, you will pay the price in
parenthesis.
$[discounted price] ($[regular price]).
Class Prerequisites...
Prerequisites for each class are listed with the individual class
descriptions. In general, GreatPhotography classes are for aspiring photographers who want to take control of their photographic
experience. This means being able to manually set camera controls such as
the aperture and shutter speed.
The classes are not intended to teach you how to operate your specific camera
model so be sure to read
your camera manual and understand how to adjust your camera’s controls prior to
the class. You should know how to change shooting modes (e.g. Manual,
Automatic, Shutter Priority etc.), adjust aperture, adjust shutter speed, and on
digital cameras you should know how to open and navigate the menu system.
